Companies to Offer Health Insurance Plans for Minnesota in 2017
- Blue Plus
- UCare
- HealthPartners (still evaluating)
- Medica
Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota is a PPO option and will be dropped as an option for the state of Minnesota. In addition, HealthPartners is still evaluating if they should stay in the exchange. Because of this, the state sent out a request for additional carriers to possibly join the exchange in late August. This is very late in the year for such a call, but Minnesota appears to be in a state of flux.

Minnesota Plan Rates Increase in 2017
Several changes in regards to rate increases for Minnesota health insurance plans are expected in 2017. It is recommended that enrollees continue to stay in touch with changes and be educated. Because of the possibility of HealthPartners and Blue Cross changes, Medica was allowed to submit an additional rate increase. These numbers will not be made public until October 1, but it is anticipated that enrollees should anticipate a 20% - 30% increase to be approved.
